Position Summary

The Interim Nursing Program Director will play a crucial role in leading our nursing program and preparing the necessary documentation for accreditation by the New York State Education Department ( NYSED ) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ). The Nursing Program Director will also be responsible for collaborating with the College of Nursing at St. Peter’s Hospital towards crafting an integrated program to be registered with NYSED as a 1+2+1 co-registered curriculum, wherein the first and the last year of the program didactic responsibilities will reside with ACPHS and the second and the third year ‘clinical’ curriculum will be with St. Peter’s hospital.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Oversight

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the nursing program, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes to support program excellence and compliance.

  • Accreditation Preparation:

  • Lead the preparation of documentation for NYSED and CCNE accreditation, including self-study reports, program assessments, and compliance documentation.

  • Plan to coordinate accreditation site visits and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure readiness for accreditation reviews.

  • Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to develop, review, and revise the nursing curriculum to meet accreditation standards and industry best practices.

  • Ensure curriculum alignment with NYSED and CCNE requirements, as well as emerging trends in nursing education and healthcare delivery.

  • Quality Improvement:

  • Implement processes for ongoing program evaluation, assessment, and quality improvement.

  • Analyze data and outcomes to identify areas for enhancement and develop action plans for continuous program improvement.

  • Faculty Support and Development:

  • Does not include any instructional responsibilities for the program once approved.

  • Provide support and mentorship to nursing faculty, promoting excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional development.

  • Facilitate faculty orientation, training, and ongoing professional development activities.

  • Student Success:

  • Collaborate with student services and academic support teams to enhance student success, retention, and progression in the nursing program.

  • Implement strategies to support diverse student populations and foster an inclusive learning environment.

This remote position is based in Albany, NY. This role is required to be on-site at least 2 days per year. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST , Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) degree in Nursing from an accredited institution as required by NYSED .

  • Current, unencumbered RN licensure in New York State.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing education, with a focus on program leadership and accreditation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes, particularly NYSED and CCNE .

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing education.

Position Salary Range $60-$80/hour
