IDS International is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to provide vehicle equipment training in support of the Trans-Sahara Counterterrorism Partnership (TSCTP) G5 Joint Force Support. This project is to enhance the G5 Sahel Joint Force military and security assigned and companion forces through the procurement and support of non-lethal equipment in order to elevate their capacity to control border regions, work together across borders, maintain and project forces, conduct offensive counterterrorism (CT) operations, respond to terror attacks or national emergencies, and improve security governance institutional proficiency and readiness to conduct and sustain CT operations.

This project is a base period of twelve (12) months. The places of performance are Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, Niger, and other sub-Saharan African countries.

  • Assist in maintaining all Burkinabe armored vehicles, by providing technical and advisory support for maintenance and logistics of other U.S. provided Burkinabe vehicles, equipment, and maintenance facilities.

  • Coordinate all maintenance support activities with the U.S. Office of Security Cooperation, to ensure that they are complementary to existing U.S. assistance to Burkina Faso?s security forces.

  • Provide Preventive and Routine Operator, Organizational, and Depot level maintenance support for Burkina Faso?s forces participating in the G5 Joint Force, with an emphasis on maintaining the Puma APCs.

  • Provide Preventive and Routine Operator, Organizational, and Depot Level Maintenance Services: Inspect the U.S. provided equipment and conduct preventive maintenance; maintain the inventory of spare parts and supplies; conduct post-maintenance operational checks and testing of systems.

  • Provide technical and advisory services to Burkinabe Security forces on all maintenance and logistical support systems required to operate and maintain vehicles and other mechanical equipment, including maintenance facility and personnel training operations and processes.


  • At least one-year basic and intermediate level maintenance experience on M36 Puma APCs and Mercedes Atego trucks

  • At least two (2) years maintenance experience on Toyota Land cruiser series vehicles

  • At least ten (10) years of Vehicle Maintenance experience

  • Technical fluency in French, specifically in maintenance terminology
