How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Are you ready for a challenge in a fast-paced dynamic organization that has several touch points with cross functional stakeholders throughout Delta? Do you have interest in learning how Delta keeps our aircraft operating in a safe and efficient manner? If so, this opportunity is for you. This position is for a Delta Technical Operations Division (TOC) finance analyst located in Atlanta GA. Key responsibilities include:

  • Disseminate, coordinate and consolidate TOC financial activity i.e., aggregate and analyze financial inputs that come from multiple stakeholders.

  • Partner with Operating team to complete weekly reconciliation of OEM material consumption vs draft customer invoice. Continuously strive for improvement by identifying business process gaps driving disconnect. Identify automation opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Engine Finance and the Engine Maintenance Organization (EM) to develop monthly, quarterly, and long range OPEX and Capital forecasts

  • Evaluate performance versus plan through variance analysis. Understand cost drivers and provide recommendations to the leadership team on potential counter measures that can be deployed to course correct. Be able to clearly articulate how your recommendations for counter measures impacting financials

  • Execute on monthly financial close tasks i.e., preparing and entering journal entries into SAP, etc.

  • Partner with Integrated Product Team (IPT) stakeholders for specific engine lines to understand key performance indicators, and conduct variance analysis for performance to plan

  • Practice executive communication through frequent presentations and interactions with senior leaders throughout the TOC engine and Finance organizations

  • Build presentations, and present findings to senior leaders (includes understanding data sources, pulling extracts, analyzing findings, synthesizing data, and summarizing findings)

  • Plan, coordinate and drive closure on ad-hoc tasks that supports business needs

  • This position requires on site attendance 4 days per week and is based in Atlanta GA.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Strong finance, accounting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent time management, detail orientation, and interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Strong focus in meeting deliverables and heighten sense of urgency.

  • Robust analytical ability, the capability to deliver results, and excellent organization.

  • An ability to interact with senior management.

  • Must possess the ability to present complex material in a concise but comprehensive manner.

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Financial Planning experience is strongly preferred

  • MBA or CPA

  • 1 to 3 years of related experience highly preferred.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion, SAP Analysis for Office, Tableau, PowerPoint, Strong Excel (Pivots, Macro’s ,etc.) and Microsoft suite
