Job Description:

MaineGeneral Medical Center's Inpatient Rehabilitation team is seeking an experienced, full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their dynamic, patient-focused team at that Alfond Center for Health at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine.

In this fast-paced, inpatient setting, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Helping patients achieve their optimal level of physical, mental and psychosocial well-being while providing a safe and secure environment.

• Daily coordination of care with the rehabilitation Physician and multidisciplinary team including physical, speech and occupational therapy teams.

• Completion of admission orders in collaboration with the rehabilitation Physician.

• Completing history and physical examinations.

• Daily patient visits

• Patient education (ex. diabetes management)

• Providing detailed and accurate information at the night/weekend hand-off to the hospitalist coverage.

• Completion of discharge documentation.

Qualities of candidate:

• Prior experience in a hospital rehabilitation or skilled rehabilitation setting, preferred.

• Must be a team player

• Dedication to providing quality, patient-centered care

• Respectful and compassionate bedside manner

• Strong communication skills to be able to talk with patients, families and other members of the care team.

• Willingness to learn and participate in continued education including keeping current on regulatory requirements and requirements for documentation.

This position has a flexible, Monday - Friday schedule with a manageable weekend call rotation.
