QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of a two-year college level curriculum in Physical Therapy Association accredited/ approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
Current and valid PTA license
Valid TX Driver's license and safe driving record

AIM has an opening for a Physical Therapist Assistant in Texas to provide services in a K-12 school program. Previous school-based experience is a plus; and candidates must hold a valid PTA - Physical Therapy Assistant license. We are committed to helping children and families, school leaders, and clinicians achieve success.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Coordinates and collaborates with the Physical Therapist to ensure integration of the therapeutic program in the plan of care.
Participates in conferences to coordinate students' plans for care.
Personal commitment to driving positive outcomes for students
Collaborative minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work and build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and school administrators
Experience working in schools or with children is beneficial, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide appropriate, individualized instruction to each student on the caseload
Observe, record, and report each students reaction to treatment and any changes in their condition or treatment
Develop schedules that meet the goals of each student
Provide consultation and assistance to staff as to skills to implement in the classroom
Establish open, frequent communication with parents, and all related service staff
Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere in working with staff in order that this atmosphere will be carried over for the student
Direct instructional services
Consultation with school staff or other AIM staff members.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
Regular District-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, and moderate carrying.
May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.
Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
Strong family engagement and communication
Maintain emotional control under stress.
