Layout and fabricate metal products in support of campus facility renovation and repair projects, and for campus vehicles and equipment. Provide material and labor estimates for projects.Operate standard shop equipment of the trade, including welding rigs, hydraulic shear, band saw, drill press, plasma cutter, and related hand tools. May also operate scissor lift, forklift, and other equipment in support of projects, moves and campus events.Provide support to campus special events, including delivery and setup of banners, flags, and production equipment.Repair campus vehicles and equipment using in-shop or portable equipment.Read, understand, and work from drawings, specifications, standards, and written-verbal instructions, as applicable, with or without direct supervision. Inspect completed work for compliance with construction documents, and regulatory building and safety codes.Assist other shop trades personnel with project-related duties, including asphalt repair; concrete construction or repair; masonry; interior demolition in support of facility renovations; installation and removal of scaffolding; pressure washing and sandblasting exterior surfaces; and relocation of client heavy equipment. Promote teamwork and demonstrate a positive attitude.Assist in shop operations. Maintain and properly secure shop, tools, equipment, and vehicles. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in shop and at job sites. Comply with safety standards and policies.Accomplish basic shop paperwork and electronic documents, including records for materials used, daily labor reports, and weekly timesheets. Drive UT vehicle in support of campus projects and special events.Attend management-directed meetings and training. Accomplish other duties as assigned.
