General summary/purpose: The Department of Surgery is currently searching for a full time Research Program Coordinator to support clinical research in the Center for Surgical Trials and Outcomes Research (CSTOR). The Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for the organization, entry, maintenance and accuracy of clinical research data for complex and detailed clinical trials. The coordinator will help with consenting, collecting research samples and delivering them to the lab, and may collaborate in development and writing of protocols and consent forms, and preparation of regulatory documents.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Supports recruitment, screening and enrolling of eligible patients into interventional clinical trials.

• Conduct study participant visits, including inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.

• Acquire and process clinical samples from study participants.

• Maintain good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and reporting requirements. Work on complex clinical and research studies which require a high level of knowledge, coordination, and data abstraction.

• Merge, create, and recode variables to prepare data for analyses.

• Prepare documents, annual reports, and amendments required by the IRB and FDA.

• Under the direction of surgeon principal investigators, determine patient study eligibility, obtain informed consent, and initiate patient randomization and enrollment.

• Act as a liaison for various studies with sponsors, study monitors, patients and their primary care providers.

• Maintain a protocol database or spreadsheet for tracking patient activity, data collection, and financial management.

• May be required to travel to satellite locations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

• Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($50,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
