The opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SAP Technology Professional with IT Project and Operational Management expertise in the areas of SAP BASIS, SAP Technology, SAP products, SAP upgrades, Migrations, S4/HANA, Database technologies, Integration technologies, Cloud Infrastructure and broader IT Platform projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a hybrid and mixed team of internal and external resources, driving IT initiatives, and ensuring successful project and operational delivery within established timelines and budget constraints.

Lead and manage activities related to projects in the areas of SAP BASIS, SAP Platform, SAP upgrades, Migrations, S4/HANA, SAP Security, IT Security, Cloud – Azure/AWS/Google, Database technologies Oracle, Microsoft, Platform Digital transformation and various other IT Platform initiatives.

Oversee and coordinate activities of internal and external resources to ensure project success.

Resource and Vendor Management:

Efficiently allocate and manage resources to optimize project outcomes.

Collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure effective vendor management for outsourced project components.

How you’ll spend your day

Project Leadership:

Lead and manage activities related to projects in the areas of SAP BASIS, SAP Platform, SAP upgrades, Migrations, S4/HANA, SAP Security, IT Security, Cloud – Azure/AWS/Google, Database technologies Oracle, Microsoft, Platform Digital transformation and various other IT Platform initiatives.

Oversee and coordinate activities of internal and external resources to ensure project success.

Resource and Vendor Management:

Efficiently allocate and manage resources to optimize project outcomes.

Collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure effective vendor management for outsourced project components.

Escalation Management:

Develop and implement effective escalation management processes to address and resolve project issues promptly.

Provide timely communication and solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

Cost Management:

Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.

Implement cost-effective strategies without compromising project quality.

Security and Compliance:

Ensure projects adhere to security and compliance standards.

Collaborate with relevant teams to implement robust security measures throughout the project lifecycle.

Operational Handover:

Facilitate a smooth transition from project implementation to operations.

Collaborate with operational teams for seamless handover of systems and processes.

Post Go-Live Support:

Provide support and oversight during the post go-live phase.

Address and resolve issues promptly to ensure a successful transition to operational status.

Risk Management:

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Implement risk management strategies to proactively address potential challenges.

IT Platform Expertise:

Demonstrate strong operational and project management experience in SAP Technologies, Database (DB), Cloud, IT Security, Digital Technologies, and other IT Infrastructure areas.

Stay updated on new products and advancements within SAP and related technologies.

Stakeholder Management:

Possess exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.

Act as a bridge between business needs and IT requirements, ensuring alignment and understanding.

People Management:

Lead a hybrid and mixed team, fostering collaboration and teamwork.

Demonstrate PMP certification and strong people management skills.

Strategic Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with IT Leadership to align projects with organizational goals and contribute to the growth of the IT department.

Identify opportunities for improvements and innovations in IT platforms.

Associate Director Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the IT Project Management team.

Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.

Represent the IT Project Management function at a strategic level within the organization.

Self-Starter:

Proactively initiate and drive projects with minimal supervision.

Your experience and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Master’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Project Management, PMP certification/training.

Minimum of 12+ years of leadership experience in project management, particularly in SAP BASIS and IT Platform projects and overall 14+ years of experience in IT.

Strong background in SAP Technologies, Database management, Cloud technologies, and IT Infrastructure.

Proven people management and leadership skills, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.

Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of internal and external resources.

Strategic thinker with the ability to drive initiatives and innovations.

Good understanding of business applications like SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Pharma apps and underlying technology infrastructure including Cloud infrastructure, Security, Networking etc.

Demonstrated thought leadership and technology leadership in the IT Platform space.
