SAP Senior Specialist Government Affairs Business Development for Cloud (f/m/d) in Berlin, Germany

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

In this role you will support the work of the Government Affairs Strategy and Business Discovery team in Berlin to build relationships and open doors to business opportunities globally, using the leverage of SAPs position in Europe.

This role serves to:

  • Develop and drive a stakeholder engagement strategy around Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technology opportunities in the regulated industries in SAP priority markets

  • Build networks and conduct advocacy to promote SAP positions and brand

  • Help develop collateral for government stakeholders on AI and Cloud

  • Seed best practices from Germany and EU into global SAP target markets

  • Act as a program coordinator for Government Affairs (GA) alongside Cloud Delivery and AI teams, Sales, Business Development and regional Sales leads for AI and Cloud

YOUR PROFILE

  • Fluent in English and German

  • 7-12 years of experience in Government Relations or Business Development with specific focus on Cloud and AI

  • Specific information technology experience as well as international affairs experience and strong networks in Berlin government networks is essential

  • A demonstrated working knowledge of both technology and policy issues around Cloud and AI

  • A thorough understanding of government policy-making processes, at national and provincial levels

  • Experience in managing consultants (f/m/d) effectively, as well as advising and communicating with senior-level corporate executives

  • Understanding of international issues and how a company can strategically face the challenges of the global market

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in operating in a public company environment, with the ability to effectively manage public scrutiny, crisis communications and media attention

  • Familiarity with international diplomatic procedures/etiquette

  • Strong people skills and a reputation for being a team player

  • Ability to work comfortably and effectively with top level government officials of either side of the political spectrum and with association leaders

  • Ability to work in an action oriented, decision-making environment and be decisive

  • Proven to be a self-starter and results oriented

Reporting / Coordination

  • This position reports to the Global Head of the Global Strategy and Business Development Team in Berlin

  • Close alignment with the regional Government Affairs team in Berlin

  • The role will be based out of Berlin

ABOUT THE TEAM

SAP Government Affairs (GA) mandate is to act as a trusted advisor to governments, anticipating and identifying policies or regulations that can impact the company in upcoming sales and earnings, including political and social developments that may create value to the brand, always aligned with SAPs strategic goals and organization-wide leadership.

The Business Development team within the Government Affairs department is a cross cutting team which provides intel and strategic advice to SAP management, as well as service and support to the regional GA colleagues and SAP sales and business development teams. Our mission is to advise and support on business strategy, drive new business and support focus deals, enable field colleagues in all regulated sectors and help to build SAPs brand.
