Summary: Our Diesel Mechanics perform preventative & corrective maintenance and repairs in routine and emergency situations. Mechanics must be organized, dependable, and proficient to maintain assigned equipment. Mechanics should be physically and mentally fit, and have a solid knowledge of diagnostic software (i.e. Premium Tech Tool, Detroit Diagnostic Link, Davie). Mechanics must be organized, dependable, and proficient to maintain assigned equipment. They must have the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical & technical problems quickly and effectively. Mechanics assist the fleet maintenance team with new technology, equipment updates, and ongoing support. Mechanics assist to identify, develop and implement process improvements. Mechanics will aid in the training of other mechanics, and must be willing to travel, at Messer's expense, for training. Willing to train the correct candidate.

Principal Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance Conduct mileage & time-based preventative maintenance as scheduled Complete visual inspections to capture defects and hazards before they become an issue Complete all fleet issued maintenance bulletins & reminders Corrective Maintenance Repair defects and hazards found during preventative maintenance inspections and noted on driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) to ensure safe and reliable operation. Parts Manage (order, account for, & issue) parts inventory to decrease down time Ship and receive materials in an organized & timely manner Keep parts storeroom clean, uncluttered, & organized Safety Able to follow all safe work practices and company safety guidelines Able to lift, bend, and stand to meet physical requirements of position Recording Complete all work orders with documentation in distribution business platform Follow checklists and protocol while conducting repairs Teamwork Collaborate with site management and local vendors to schedule equipment repairs Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 2 years of mechanical experience or Certification from diesel mechanic trade school (Career Technical Education (CTE) certification qualifies) Join us and you will be part of a company that values and supports your career.
