Rate of Pay: $135,000 to $155,000/year

Duties: Develop new annuity products, enhance existing products with new rider features, and contribute to production support for the annuity policy administration system, Transcend. Collaborate with the Product Owner, Business Analyst, and business partners such as Accounting, Finance, Investment, Actuaries, and Operations to understand business requirements and develop annuity products. Serve as subject matter expert on Transcend, providing software-specific design, techno-functional, and methodological solutions. Maintain, optimize, and improve Transcend. Work in a Kanban environment leading a product and refining it for further development, transforming conceptual thoughts into multiple possible approaches. Ensure all features are identified, and facilitate, manage and distribute product changes among developers. Collaborate with leaders to refine and estimate epics for business priority. Provide feedback to business users on feasibility of requirements, and provide policy level fixes within trend by analyzing actuarial data for premiums, charges, cash values, etc. Create proof of concepts to illustrate system capabilities, identify shortcomings, suggest architecture of proposed solution. Manually create data files to test third party systems. Prepare effort estimation to implement functional requirements and delivery schedule, and provide to scrum master during agile planning. Write, update, and test programs to implement specific system functionality including code changes in XPA / UNIPaaS / Magic, Unix (Shell Scripting), and Oracle (SQL, PLSQL). Set up new products in Transcend, calculating total premiums, cash values, charges. Train members in Transcend including functional RS knowledge. Perform self and team code reviews, checking system performance before and after code changes. Verify DB performance by time-check from system logs. Propose and design solutions to ongoing issues and defects. Provide product support to high priority business issues, analyzing and providing solutions during nightly batch failures to ensure batch is completed and prevent business disruption. Monitor app performance post-deployment to product.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or related field followed by 7 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Senior Software Engineer-related occupation.
