Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEM MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0097000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard. This technician position serves as a Pneudraulic Svstem Mechanic within a fuel systems shop responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel cells, water injection, entidetonant (ADI), and inflight refueling systems. Responsibilities Utilizing electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications, determines extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required. Connects power sources, and using cockpit controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, performs operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices. Performs leak check of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels and dye tracing fuel leaks. Diagnoses and overhauls fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts for corrosion, scratches, cracks or other damage. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG, and DE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-5 or E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A6XX AFSC or able to obtain it within one year of hire 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. Experience which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. 2. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. 3. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 4. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. 5. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. 6. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. 7. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. 8. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
