Solution Manager - Cambridge

Job Purpose

As a Solution Manager at AVEVA, you will play a pivotal role in managing the entire lifecycle of our Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) solution within the Engineering & Design domain . This includes defining the solution vision and architecture, prioritising use cases and requirements, and closely collaborating with Product Managers and Research & Development to deliver innovative solutions. Working across various business functions such as sales, marketing, delivery, and customer success, you will ensure alignment with the company's overall strategic, revenue, and customer satisfaction goals.

Dimensions

In this role, you will join the Portfolio Management team, collaborating with fellow Solution Managers and Product Managers. Your primary responsibility will be AVEVA's ERM solution. As an evangelist for the business, you will represent market needs and trends, articulate the voice of the customer, and identify industry and customer challenges and opportunities. A thought leader with profound industry and enterprise knowledge, you will creatively address engineering lifecycle challenges, unbound by customer or industry 'status quo.'

Operating within a global digital workplace, this role requires travel to customers, partners, prospects, AVEVA offices, and events (including overseas and sometimes at short notice) to successfully execute responsibilities.

Responsibilities

This role is to solution manage AVEVA’s Materials and Construction Solutions:

  • Develop and gain approval for a rolling multi-year business strategy that defines the vision, value to the customer and AVEVA and aligns with the company corporate strategy. Based on input from market research, customers, reference groups and AVEVA business functions, create and gain approval and commitment for 1-year imperatives that drive the priority activities for each fiscal year.

  • Translate the business strategy into an actionable solution strategy including development of the budget for the solution. Document and get approval for the market and business requirements and corresponding commercial pricing model. Manage the solution profitability and commercial success.

  • Execute the solution strategy and drive outcomes throughout the organisation to get the solution to market.

  • Manage all aspects of the solution lifecycle and ensure timely delivery of requirements to respective Product Managers. Ensure solution multi-generation plans and roadmaps are always up to date and available. Monitor development progress and ensure any changes in scope and/or requirements are approved. Be responsible for acceptance of solution releases against requirements.

  • Support marketing on the go-to-market strategy with insights on key differentiators and messages. Contribute to the creation of sales collateral by providing content and advice. Facilitate the collection and exchange of sales success stories and information and assist in the creation of customer reference materials. Support sales enablement with training and education that provides knowledge (industry, sales arguments etc.).

  • Work with Product Managers to manage the relationship with all AVEVA business functions via regular meetings and stakeholder meetings to ensure that the solution business requirements and use cases are understood and clearly communicated and that the business functions are fully briefed on the multi-generation plan and roadmap.

  • Act as the focal point for the sales function when corporate support and input is required for major or strategic sales activities, including assisting with the response to RFQs and joining the sales teams for key customer/prospect events and meetings.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in the delivery of global engineering software solutions that meet the needs of engineering lifecycle (i.e. greenfield and brownfield).

  • Must have knowledge and experience of working in the industrial construction segment.

  • Previous knowledge and experience of working with ERP / AVEVA ERM / Hexagon SMART is a plus.

  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency and an ability to work at senior level within AVEVA and our client base.

  • Ability to work effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial, global, and highly matrixed environment.

  • Excellent thought leadership skills and an ability to work very collaboratively within a team of likeminded people.

  • A proven track record in developing and implementing strategic plans for the development of solutions.

  • Strong commercial awareness.

  • Results orientation that is balanced between both long-term objectives and short-term performance.

  • Ability to develop recommendations based on rigorous analytics, financial modelling, and a thorough understanding of detailed implementation requirements and risks.

  • Have a deep knowledge of the business processes, information flow and management practices for your marketplace.
