Element Materials Technology Materials Coordinator in Cambridge, Ontario

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Coordinator at our Cambridge lab. This role manages the flow of materials, customer requirements, quality measures and work instructions throughout the project.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and Login customer materials following Element internal procedures

  • Perform technical review of routine orders, with order templates, following Element internal procedures

  • Build and review Order Specifications as needed to process Customer orders

  • Perform primary point of contact responsibilities directly with client contacts and follow up regularly on production forecasts and new work

  • Process revised reports for orders as needed

  • Maintaining qualifications and proficiency

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S and

  • Operational Excellence

  • Support the development and implementation of process monitoring to reduce of lead time, reduce of waste, and to meet or exceed customer expectations

Skills / Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, test methods, industry testing specifications, part blueprints, drawings, flow charts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel) and general computer use of internet

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect

  • Ability to interface with clients, win new work and determine their requirements; helps develops proposals including cost estimates, work plan and terms and conditions
