Chicago Meat Authority (CMA) is proud to have celebrated 33 years in the food industry. Located in Chicago\'s historic Stockyards, CMA is a forward thinking processor of value added beef, pork, and poultry items with a strong focus on selling the Healthcare, Hotel, and Institutional Markets (HRI), meat purveyors, and Multi-unit regional and national chains up to and including big box stores. In addition, CMA specializes in custom cuts for further processors including but not limited to grinding operations, deli manufacturers, and the prepared entre market. CMA is seeking Trimmers for our meat processing facility. Individuals must be willing to work in a cold environment. Job duties include, but not limited to: Trim and portion various cuts of raw meat to specification while maintaining yield, throughput, and quality standards. Pack product according to specification in either boxes or bags. Make cost effective cutting decisions. Perform all duties as required by production supervisor. Follow CMA policies and procedures. Capabilities Trimming experience required. Required to work overtime (including Saturdays). Dependable. Required to wear all personal protective equipment. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 50 pounds depending on specific function being performed. Meat processing and/or refrigerated manufacturing experience preferred. Worked at least one year in each of the previous 3 jobs preferred. Ability to crouch and bend repeatedly. Ability to work with cold materials in a cold, humid environment. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Follow all safety regulations and support others in working safely.
