We are offering an opportunity for a VP/Director of Finance to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role revolves around the financial management of our organization, from daily operations to high-level strategic planning. The candidate will be working in a hybrid environment, spending 2-3 days in the office with additional in-person meetings across the south and west sides of Chicago.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire range of financial management, including the daily operations and high-level strategy and management

• Present critical financial matters proactively and provide strategic guidance to the Leadership Team

• Lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the leadership team and prepare monthly statements for review

• Collaborate with the Director of People Operations to ensure the accuracy of payroll and benefits upon onboarding and offboarding

• Review and recommend policies that impact organization operations and finance in areas such as risk management and worker’s compensation

• Work closely with an outside insurance broker to create an annual risk management plan and secure appropriate levels of insurance coverage

• Manage relationships with outside corporate and not-for-profit counsel and proactively escalate any issues that may require legal support

• Ensure compliance with all state and federal rules governing Private Operating Foundations

• Monitor potential situations that may result in financial or reputational risk

• Provide technical assistance as needed to partner organizations around their fiscal and operational deficiencies to manage risk by association

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a finance leadership role

• Proficiency in 3M is required

• Experience with Accounting Software Systems is necessary

• Knowledge and hands-on experience with ADP - Financial Services is preferred

• Demonstrated experience in CapEx and CRM is expected

• Ability to perform all accounting functions

• Experience in auditing is a must

• Proficiency in budget processes and capital management

• Must possess strong skills in cash flow analysis

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus

• Excellent leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team

• Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills

• Solid understanding of financial software and MS Office

• Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

• Proficient in the use of financial software and systems.
