Bon Secours Mercy Health Electrician - The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio

Works independently with general supervision, maintaining hospital electrical systems. Performs general electrical work as necessary without calling in outside contractors.

  • Assesses maintenance problems and completes repairs without direct supervision and in a timely manner.

  • Performs general maintenance and basic tasks, as necessary, in a timely manner, according to order of priority, with minimum guidance and supervision.

  • Performs repairs on electrical equipment, using the NEC 70 Code; devising strategies for improvement of electrical systems.

  • Maintains customers' rights (confidentiality, privacy, safety, security and decision making).

  • Interacts with customers, who may include patients, physicians, coworkers and visitors in a manner that exemplifies the hospital's mission and core values.

  • Is knowledgeable of and adheres to hospital and department's policies and procedures

  • Contributes to the care of the environment by maintaining work areas and assisting with light housekeeping tasks as needed.

  • Attends in-services, department meetings and other training sessions relative to job.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: High School diploma

Licensure: Master Electrician's License required.

Certification(s):

Experience: Advanced knowledge of healthcare electrical systems.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires attention to details. Skills with hand and power tools and test instruments. Requires training and/or experience in reading blueprints and schematics. Adheres to the hospital's lockout tagout policy. Knowledge of motors, VFD's, transformers, etc. Ability to wear proper PPE, N-95 or equivalent. Knowledge and proficiency in computer skills as needed to order supplies and/or equipment and to complete tasks.
