The work will involve heavy/civil, industrial/energy, environmental/remediation, and underground utility.

Position

The Senior Estimator will contribute to the success of our projects by providing accurate and timely cost estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals for our client-base of general contractors, owners, developers, and end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and utility construction estimating, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality results. This role will be based out of our Coalville, Utah location with possible options for working out of Sandy, Utah. It will include working both in the office and in the field. The Senior Estimator will estimate for civil construction projects which can include powerline right of way, substation grading, and remediation and natural gas projects which can include high pressure gas line, regulator station, anomaly digs, intermediate high pressure, gas infrastructure maintenance.

What You'll Do

Tasks

• Analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.

• Collaborate with operations project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information.

• Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys.

• Research and analyze material costs, labor rates, and equipment expenses.

• Utilize construction estimating software to enhance efficiency.

• Present and explain estimates to internal teams and stakeholders.

• Participate in bid review meetings.

• Attend pre-bids and job walks prior to estimate completion.

• Additional duties as assigned by management.

• This role requires some project-based travel.

What You'll Bring

Requirements

• Prior experience with Civil or Gas estimating required.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and applicable Engineering programs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Knowledge of current market trends and construction industry standards.

• Construction background required.

• Must be able to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plan & profiles.

• Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).

  Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in associated field preferred.

• Prior natural gas construction experience preferred.

• Proven experience as a construction estimator in the utility construction industry preferred.

• HCSS Heavy Bid experience preferred.
