Aston Carter Buyer Assistant in Dearborn, Michigan

Description:

This position is within the Strategy, Processes, and Procedure team, which is part of Purchasing. The team is responsible for leading process improvements, training buyers, and supporting activities such as sales agreements, process compliance, and administration.

Buyer Assistance

• Lead Supplier Diversity and Inclusion activities

• Project manage waste elimination project

• Manage department organization chart, distribution list, and department communications

• Support various new employee onboarding activities

• Control Testing (CT) – Internal Audits

o Complete assigned MCRP questions by collaborating with process owners. Also, analyze evidence and complete the system questions

o Update or create Single Point Lessons (SLP) supporting CT questions

o Support activities required to fix broken processes

• Access related items: WERS, building coordinator

Other Information

• Supports a department of approximately 100 people

• Acts informally, as the help desk for Purchasing

• Must be a self-starter who will seek to obtain information related to department processes, regardless of topic

• Must be willing to work as a partner to all department employees to bring issues to resolution

• Should be willing to learn auditing and internal control skills

Position Qualifications

• 1+ years Purchasing or Project management experience

• Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience

• Ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and driven to achieve results with high attention to detail

Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

1+ years in purchasing/project management related position

2+ years of corp work experience

Familiarity/some use of SAP

Bach Degree
