POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Global Credit and Collections is responsible for leading the credit, collections, and cash application functions within the highly customer centric, metrics driven shared services team at Advanced Energy. Leading a global team, the Director of Credit and Collections plays a critical role in overseeing the company’s financial health by ensuring timely collections, sound credit strategies, and implementation of scalable automated processes. This role requires strategic thinking, strong global leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial systems and best practices.

This position works closely with sales, accounting, and business operations to enhance the customer experience, company-wide scalability, efficiency, performance improvement, service, and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collections Management:

  • Develop and implement collections strategies to minimize outstanding balances.

  • Manage accounts receivable aging and prioritize collection efforts.

  • Analyze payment trends and implement measures to reduce bad debt.

  • Provide guidance and support to AR staff.

  • Provide cash collection forecasts.

  • Completes quarterly current expected credit losses (CECL) reviews.

  • Minimize bad debt.

Dispute Resolution:

  • Develop and implement strategies to resolve disputes.

  • Oversee the dispute process to deliver timely and accurate resolution and reconciliation.

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.

  • Coordinate weekly meetings with relevant departments to review disputes and resolve billing discrepancies.

Payment Application

  • Drive the cash application strategy to increase accuracy and reduce unapplied payments.

Financial Reporting:

  • Report on billing and collections performance for the Executive team.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline credit, collections and cash application processes.

  • Implement best practices and leverage technology to increase automation, enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor global AR team.

  • Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

  • Encourage professional development and continuous learning.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Denver, CO

  • Environment: Standard office environment, with limited remote opportunities

  • Flexibility working across time zones as part of a global team, as required.

  • International travel of up to 10%

  • Interfaces with internal and external customers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated ability to create and drive strategies

  • Strong communication and partnership skills across functions

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Certifications from NACM or CRF

  • Willing to work at a transaction level.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Credit and Collections, Accounts Receivable or adjacent finance disciplines

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience; leadership of global teams strongly preferred

  • Experience with designing and implementing automated processes

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or other related field

  • Masters degree preferred

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 to $170,000 per year.
