Join us!Sr. Cost Estimating AnalystSr. Cost EstimatorKey Requirements of Position:*Responsible to understand the elements that compose the cost of a product and build a Should Cost Model. Implement, maintain and update associated cost analysis with real time quotes or valid technical data (as applicable).*Responsible for the development and long term ownership of cost estimating models for various productsrocesses - castings, stampings, forgings, machining etc.; and associated tooling investment(s).*Facilitate the optimal use of materials and process in domestic and international market studies for various commodities to arrive at the best value proposition(s) in global sourcing*Actively support the Purchasing function to ensure market competitive sourcing.*Train additional associates in related AAM global locations.*Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities along with process efficiency improvements.*Organize and record domestic and international market studies for various commodities to identify market trends for material costs.Education and Experience:•Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business•4+ years of relevant experience in an automotive industry. Knowledge of driveline / driveshaft products along with manufacturing methodsrocesses preferred.•Strong technical expertise in casting, stamping, machining and related categories required.•Experience in MS Office Suite required and experience with integrated ERP systems is recommended (Oracle, PLM, etc.).•Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.•Excellent oral and written communication skills required.•Excellent interpersonal skills required (i.e., for presentations, meeting facilitation, etc.)•Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently as required.•Willingness to travel as required to plant supplier sites to assess the products and process systems, approximately 15%.About American Axle ManufacturingFor over 20 years, customers around the world have entrusted AAM to design, engineer, validate and manufacture driveline, metal forming, powertrain, and casting technologies for automotive, commercial and industrial markets.
