Job Description

Monitor and modify systems, procedures, and personnel to continuously improve customer service while simultaneously reducing working inventory and reducing material handling costs. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Responsible for prioritization and sequencing customer purchase orders through MRP, DRP, MPS system.

Specified Tasks:

All tasks are required to be conducted in a safe manner and with the use of the management suggested PPE.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate schedulers’ and inside sales activities to ensure ever-improving customer service.

  • Monitor and modify systems and procedures to allow improved customer service, reduced inventory, and lower material handling costs.

  • Manage and develop raw material warehousing personnel and procedures to ensure timely delivery of product to the appropriate work centers, with emphasis towards accomplishing said activity on weekend and off-shift operations.

  • Manage raw material warehouse personnel and work with production material handlers to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Work with purchasing to improve schedule reliability of incoming materials.

  • Maintenance of MRP and MPS systems

  • As necessary, sequence firm purchase orders through scheduling system

  • Review daily and weekly plant performance reports

  • As necessary, prioritize daily production schedule

  • Coordinate ordering of raw materials

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires the ability to lead, direct and motivate people in maintaining a productive work environment and meeting production needs and schedules.

  • Requires good trouble-shooting and problem solving abilities in the areas of personnel, process, equipment and material problems, and the ability to train others in these skills. This requires on the job learning and training.

  • Requires the ability to work effectively with corporate, plant manager and suppliers.

  • Requires the ability to remain current on customer and market requirements and new equipment and process developments and/or changes to meet future demands, as well as new materials to meet future demands.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work area may be hot, cold, dust and fumes.

  • Surrounding equipment is somewhat noisy and hearing protection is required.

  • Ability to push pull 50 lbs.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and climb.

  • Mental alertness to work with machinery

  • Ability to work in high noise environment

  • Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.

  • Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity

  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention with manufacturing functions

EN VIRONMENTAL/SAFETY/QUALITY

  • Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.

  • Follow prescribed safety rules/procedures so as to prevent injury to self and others and to maintain safe equipment and conditions in entire area of responsibility.

  • Seek the assistance and advice of safety representatives on matters concerning safe practices, policies and/or procedures and give personal support to all safety activities and procedures.

  • Use the company’s ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activities.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related degree with 2 plus years proven related management/supervisory experience with experience in inventory control.

  • Inventory control management.

  • Materials Management .

  • SAP Knowledge

  • Must be able to use and manipulate computer applications such as Word and Excel
