About the Position: Serves as a Materials Examiner & Identifier (MVO/FLO) for the U.S. Army LOG Readiness CTR, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This is a Term appointment not to exceed 13 months. Responsibilities Perform work utilizing the automated database, Central Issue Facility System-Army (CIF-Army), to process issues, turn-ins, direct exchanges and temporary loans to individuals. Responsible for all safety, environmental and security requirements. Assist in the operation and maintenance within the general warehousing plan and customer satisfaction. Conduct inventory and signs shipping documents and forwards to the appropriate supply clerk with discrepancies noted. Assemble items for turn-in to warehouse for stock, to shops for repair, to laundry for cleaning, turn-in to property disposal or shipping to other locations. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Examiner and Identifier (MVO/FLO) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties such as: sort clothing and/or equipment items; locate clothing and/or equipment within a warehouse; and operate a computer terminal using an automated database. I can use hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and other hand tools to unpack or disassemble equipment. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending and light to medium lifting. Frequently lifts items weighing up to 60 pounds and occasionally heavier items. CONDITIONS: Works primarily indoors. May be exposed to dust, dirt, or fumes and odors from damp clothing and equipment. Work area may be hot, drafty or unheated. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises; falls; or injury from materials handling equipment. Wears appropriate safety apparel as deemed necessary by management. May also be exposed to injuries while driving, loading or unloading vehicles. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Supply Management Career Field 13 position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. This position is a TERM position not to exceed 13 months. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position may be converted to a permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. This position will be filled as a time-limited appointment. Army employees who accept time limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. There are no return/reemployment rights to the position vacated prior to accepting the time-limited appointment. Permanent Army employees who accept a time limited appointment will be expected to sign a statement of understanding acknowledging the associated impacts of taking such appointment.
