About You and this Role:

In this role, you will serve as theUnit Leader/Production Coordinatorfor theThermal Treatmentassets inFreeport, TX. You will partner with Operations and Subject Matter Experts to ensure optimum plant availability in order to meet the waste destruction schedule.

You will partner with other Dow sites along the Gulf Coast to help manage optimizing external spending for waste destruction. You will gain exposure to site integration by participating on teams that ensure the site has optimum operation and waste destruction is not a limiting factor.

Additionally, you will be a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient destruction of waste.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as back-up to the Thermal Treatment Operations Leader & Production Engineers.

  • Additional Process Safety Focal Point for Thermal Treatment.

  • Demonstration of strong EH&S knowledge of Life Critical Standards and be a resource to support proper application.

  • Ensures compliance with plant operating permits.

  • Maintains, owns, and reviews daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/ trends to ensure optimum performance.

  • Partners with experts within the Technology Center, Engineering, and/or Maintenance to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline. Acts as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drives implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.

  • Help with the coordination, integration, and interaction with improvement engineers to identify and execute capital and expense improvement projects.

  • Able and prepared to advise site functions on how to best manage and mitigate site unplanned events, response to significant weather events and participate in strategic planning where Thermal Treatment assets are in play.

  • Be a key resource for site activity or growth projects for waste destruction for Environmental Operations.

  • Serve as Thermal Treatment Production Coordinator by partnering with on-site and off-site customers to determine waste destruction needs (i.e. solid wastes, vents, liquids) and ability to destroy wastes. Validates the waste schedule with the Waste Scheduler and communicates it to operating personnel. Where issues arise, understands the impact on the waste destruction schedule and plan to minimize impact.

  • Obtains information from the maintenance schedule, equipment/plant availability, resource availability, raw material location, and waste storage location to ensure waste schedule can be achieved.

  • Reviews and approves new waste to be handled by the facility.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing or related).

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
