Summary

The Plant Manager will manage all key areas of performance of a plant in a manner consistent with our company values and in compliance with company policy, government regulations, and employment laws. We are looking for a Plant Manager with demonstrated experience around Safety, Environmental Compliance, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of functions, coordinate activities with all departments. Works closely with managers, supervisors, engineers and other peers.

• Maintains a safe working environment by actively promoting a safe culture and ensuring rules and regulations are understood and followed. Holds self and others accountable.

• Understand, promote, and uphold work rules, safety rules, environmental rules, and company policies and procedures.

• Establish and maintain an effective rapport with regulatory agencies, such as MSHA, OSHA, EPA, BLM, Forest Service.

• Provide direction through coaching, problem solving, and conflict management. Effortlessly works with a diverse workforce. Responsible for employee development by providing challenging, stretching tasks and assignments.

• Ensure efficient use of the workforce through scheduling, organizing and prioritizing tasks. Participate in interviewing, hiring, and staffing process.

• Manage the design process, implementation, and maintenance of operational equipment. Identify vulnerabilities, minimize risks and create contingency plans.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and electrical instrument repair in all departments.

• Support organizational and department change efforts. Identify potential impact of changes and adjust work efforts as needed.

• Prepare operating, capital and manpower budgets. Short and long range forecasting.

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

• Degree in Engineering preferred

Relevant Experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to lead a large team and influence across business functions

• Effective with computers, in particular Microsoft Office Suite and standard ERP offerings

• Knowledge of latest safety laws and regulations

• Experience in a fertilizer manufacturing plant or similar operation is preferred

• Lean Manufacturing experience

Wage range or rate of pay: $160,000 to $180,000. Plus annual incentive plan eligibility
