Lockheed Martin Aircraft Maintenance Asc Manager (Level 4) in Henderson, Nevada

Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. This role manages both hourly and salary employees in ADP Special Programs at a remote site.

• Must be able to work any shift required.

• Lead the maintenance team that will be flight testing various ADP designed vehicles.

• Provide estimates for proposal purposes; plans and executes flight tests of aircraft, components and vehicles.

• Work from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions using math and basic computer skills

• Responsible for the assignment of work, technical interpretations and compliance with prescribed flight test and manufacturing policies and procedures

• Coordination of ranges, test start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers

• Initiate wage actions consistent with labor agreement and appropriate management discretion.

• Plan and coordinate internal and external flight test programs within ADP Special Projects, working to project schedules and budgets.

• Monitor and verify cost and quality in accordance with program requirements or other control procedures.

• Responsible to develop new manufacturing technologies supporting future platforms.

• Ideal candidate will lead a team responsible for Flight Test operations, and specific system maintenance and operational checkouts to include but not limited to electrical and environmental control systems, hydraulics, fuel, power plant, structures, and primary and secondary flight control rigging.

• Candidate will lead production activities with both salary and represented workforce to accomplish cost, schedule, and quality objectives.

• Candidate will be responsible to provide a safe work environment and take immediate action to address any unsafe conditions. Implement and enforce importance of FOD, general housekeeping, and 6S Standards.

• Must be able to work weekends/holidays and support flexible shift scheduling.

A level 4 employee Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience

Successful candidate must be willing to travel to remote site locations for extended periods of time.

This position is in Las Vegas, NV

Basic Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a flight test environment (flight test, avionics, system checkout, metallic and composite assemblies)

• Active aircraft flight line experience.

• Prior leadership/management experience in a Flight Operations environment clearing aircraft for Safe for Flight release and Exceptional Release.

• Experience interpreting blueprints, manufacturing procedures, instruction manuals, specifications and engineering orders to clarify and resolve such functional problems related to production, processing, fabrication, and assembly.

• Experience in troubleshooting specific system maintenance, operational checkouts to include but not limited to electrical and environmental control systems, hydraulics, fuel, power plant, structures, and primary and secondary flight control rigging.

• Experience in planning projects, developing manpower plans, forecasting budget requirements and tracking execution (EVMS) for manufacturing efforts.

Desired Skills:

• Flight Test of air vehicles, manned and unmanned.

• Understanding of materials and hardware and their properties.

• Strong written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

• Job estimating and design for manufacturing review experience

• Current of new manufacturing processes and techs, Prototyping Manufacturing Experience

• Ability to determine priorities of scheduled and drop in work.

• LM21 certified (green/black belt)

• Familiar with manufacturing execution systems (SFM, ERP4C, Etc.)

• Technical Degree (IE, ME, AE, etc...)

• Experience and knowledge in supervising hourly employees.

• Previously held Air Force 7vl or Navy/USMC MOS equivalent.

• Ability to drive actions to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.

• Ability to work under consultative direction towards predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

• Ability to use good judgment and make timely decisions.

• Experience with manufacturing systems such as SFM (Shop Floor Management), EWI (Electronic Work Instructions) and the QADS (Quality Assurance Documentation System) or other industry related manufacturing operating systems.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
