Description
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examining departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy necessary to support the buying process
Seeing that POs are issued, shipped, and received on a timely basis
Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
Maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases
Various Ad-hoc requests supporting the Center Led Procurement process
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Acute sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills and demeanor
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented
Strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel; MS Access a plus
Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
EDUCATION:
- Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Business Administration.
EXPERIENCE:
Experienced with supplier management
The position would require 0-2 years of experience
Ideal candidate must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have at least 1 year of general office experience, prior heavy data entry and experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical abilities and organizational skills, interpersonal skills and strong team spirit are essential to success in this position. Prompt arrival and regular attendance to work with the ability to learn, understand and adhere to applicable safety precautions and procedures. Confidentiality and professionalism expected. Work is performed in a fast paced, diverse environment with a continuous focus on customer service under minimal supervision.
