Project Risk Management Lead Specialist

KBR is looking for a Risk Management Specialist, to help support the project controls team on a major Engineering & Construction project.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for maintaining cost system, reporting, analysis and forecasting, change control, and construction progress measurement.

  • Display core competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.

  • Participate in recording actual and committed cost and workhours, development of project variances, trending and analysis of commitments and expenditures and development of the project forecast and cash flow.

  • coordination with procurement and material managers as well as engineering work group leads pertaining to essential items of supply

  • Contributes to forecasts by actively participating in cost, progress and schedule analysis

  • Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs for projects.

  • Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, monthly forecasts and reporting.

  • Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis.

  • Participates in or leads change control process.

  • Ensures the development and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling.

  • Coordinates with procurement and material managers as well as engineering work group leads pertaining to essential items of supply.

  • Provides priorities for projects to guarantee completion.

  • Contributes to forecasts and disbursements by performing schedule analysis.

  • Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices in project controls.

  • Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying (or similar).  

  • 10+ years of relevant experience delivering solutions for contractors, subcontractors and owners on Energy, Consultancy, Technology and/or Government Services projects, and/or owners on Hydrocarbon, Government Services, Power, Mining or Infrastructure projects. 

  • Significant experience with contract and subcontract formulation and administration.

  • Prior hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: risk management, contract administration, subcontracts, and/or project management.

  • Experience of the entire project lifecycle in a EPC, or PMC contract management is essential in acquiring the knowledge necessary for effective commercial management and claims resolution.

  • Field/project assignments for EPC, PMC, Services and/or Government Services projects.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Team player with the ability to work unsupervised and prioritize and execute commercial risk management activities to achieve deadlines.
