Job Purpose/Scope:

To meet the demands and complete customer orders in a timely, accurate and safe manner; repairing and fitting large steel castings meeting customer and internal requirements.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Weld, grind and fit castings to specifications (i.e. repair steel surfaces as required)

  • Attain welding certification(s) per internal and customer requirements.

  • Read and interpret drawings and verify casting specifications by use of measurement equipment (i.e. digital calipers, tape measure, thickness gauge, depth gauge, etc.)

  • Follow written instructions per required processing requirements.

  • Maintain shop equipment and related welding / fabrication tools

  • Report inventory needs ensuring adequate materials are available.

  • Operate overhead crane and forklift

  • Work overtime as needed to achieve production requirements

  • Works with all functions to ensure achievement of the company’s quality objectives.

  • Perform duties or tasks as directed that will assist in ensuring conformance to the company’s quality management system and policies

Supervision Received and Given:

  • This function reports to the Production Team Leader

  • Based upon experience, will assist in training of new employees
