Job Overview:

General Description includes mechanical design and analysis of an assigned scope of work in a McDermott project including specific complex deliverables such as pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, rotating equipment and piping engineering. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems. Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers. Mentors junior Mechanical Engineers and depending on size and complexity of scope of work, may be assigned as the Mechanical Engineering Lead for a project. Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control when assigned as lead on projects.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Apply thorough working knowledge to prepare and oversee the development of key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:

• Specifications and Datasheets

• Equipment material requisition

• Technical bid evaluations

• Equipment testing

• Conceptual studies and calculations

• Cost and planning studies

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Accredited engineering degree may be required by specific regions

• Minimum 6 years of detailed Mechanical engineering experience

• Technical knowledge of the detailed design engineering process

• Project coordination and execution skills

• Is familiar with codes and standards of ASME, API and ANSI

• Is current on new scientific engineering methods and possesses a technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process

• Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Prefer BSME degree

• Prefer PE certificate of registration

• Prefer experience at site during construction
