Description Environmental Health & Safety Site Leader

BRP Marine Group/Manitou Pontoons

We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Leader who will report to the Site Director, and who'll be tasked with leading health and safety functions for BRP's Manitou Pontoon facility in Lansing Mi. As part of your role you'll be serving as the primary liaison and champion of BRP Marine's EHS strategies, operational & tactical plans in collaboration with Corporate EHS function, Marine's Management team and team members. You'll be at the forefront assessing achievement and impact through measurable performance indicators. In addition, striving to imbed and realize a "goal zero" mindset and behavior-based safety culture at all organizational levels.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

Develop and implement plans, programs and policies for monitoring and preventing EHS incidents through a behavior-based safety framework

Survey, compile, and analyze data relating to environmental, occupational and environmental health issues to provide recommendations to realize year over year performance improvement in all EHSS domains

Monitor the company's environmental and health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Provide technical and industry guidance to Sr. Management regarding EHS compliance requirements and industry leading best practices

Structure, implement and monitor programs and systems to track and evaluate safety related incidents

Ensure timely, complete and accurate submission of all environmental and safety reports

Coordinate and facilitate administration of all matters related to Workers Compensation claims

Request, justify, and manage capital expense projects related to EHS

Actively and visibly champions EHS efforts through role-modeling, active content delivery (oral and written) and involvement with all organizational levels

 

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Required: 

Bachelor's degree in a related field

5 + years experience in applied EHS manufacturing environment or transferrable experience in related industry

Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to influence and manage change across all organizational levels

 

Preferred: 

Ability to maintain composure and tenacity to resolve complex, urgent issues

Maintain confidentiality and dignity of all team members

Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, plan for additional resources, set goals and objectives & develop realistic action plans

Prepare and support those affected by change including monitoring transitions/changes and evaluating results and impacts
