*Welder/ Fabricator Job Description *REQUIRES 3-5 YEARS CURRENT EXPERIENCE. PAY DEPENDS ON EXPERIENCE. BENEFITS AVAILABLE. Strong fabrication skills a plus. Must have the ability to read/use technical drawings and various other specs and verbal instructions for planning and accomplishing goals. Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods. Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade. Must have basic mathematics skills, able to read measurements and use various types of measurement tools. Ability and knowledge to work with various welding tools (Mig, Tig, Arc, plasma cutter, torches, jigs, hand/power tools). Must be able to follow directions, work independently and make appropriate decisions, perform/present quality work and willing to learn as necessary to perform jobs, increase productivity or enhance quality. Must be dependable, able to meet physical job requirements (bending, lifting, standing, able to work at heights, pick up and carry heavy items), operate a forklift, man-lift, and ladders. Must have a valid drivers license to use company vehicles and reliable transportation to get to work. We are willing to train the right candidate that possess a positive attitude, a willingness to learn the trade and be a team player that contributes to team effort. Steel-toe boots are required to be worn by all employees. Other safety wear is provided and required, as well as adherence to all safety guidelines/standards as set forth by our company and North Carolina Law. Having your own welding hood, gloves, apron, and any other tools, etc., is a plus. Welder certification is a plus. Must be willing to get and/or maintain certifications as well as, attend other continuing education classes/training as instructed by the company at the companys expense for full-time employees. A welding test will be given prior to employment consideration. You must also consent to random drug testing and a background check. This is a full-time position, M-TH, 7:30am-4:30pm, Fri. 7:30am-1:30pm, or as requested to work. Other benefits discussed if hired, after the 90-day grace period. You will also be required to keep your work area clean and get to work on time. Assist fellow employees when needed and perform any job/task requested by your supervisor. Must apply in person.
