Lockheed Martin Field Engineer in Liverpool, New York

Description: This position is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a Navy combat system. In this role the candidate will become a member of an established lab team working in the Syracuse test facility. The candidate will be required to learn how to perform and conduct customer witnessed system sell-off testing. In addition, the candidate will be supporting all other lab activities as required. Here are a few examples of what the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

1) Installation of cabinet systems in the Syracuse test facility.

a. This involves but is not limited to cabling, loading software, fault diagnoses, and uninstalling the system post testing.

2) Administrative duties as it pertains to the following activities.

a. Hardware security, test equipment tracking, purchase requisitions, equipment moves.

3) Conduct system level customer witnessed testing using established test procedures.

4) Fiber Topology using established procedures and test equipment.

5) Perform other duties as assigned by the lab lead (i.e. Engineering change installation, general lab organization, support other lab team members).

Most of the work will be conducted in the Syracuse Test Facility, but some domestic or international travel will be required on an as needed basis.

Basic Qualifications:

1) Domestic travel and or international travel to low, medium, and high-risk security level countries is required.

2) Demonstrated skills in electronic and mechanical troubleshooting.

3) Demonstrated skills following established test procedures.

4) Proficient using MS Office Software including; Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

5) Demonstrated skills utilizing different pieces of test equipment like a Digital Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, or a Signal Generator to name a few.

6) Qualified candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. This requires US Citizenship.

Desired Skills:

1) Previous field engineering and equipment support experience in support of a defense program.

2) Previous Military experience performing maintenance and operation of AN/SQQ-89 system.

3) Knowledge and understanding of SONAR Theory, Design, Troubleshooting, and Repair.

4) Understanding of Unix/Linux operating system in the areas of file system navigation and commands.

5) Fiber Optics repair/cleaning/polishing

6) Working knowledge of local area networks and associated hardware (i.e. switches)

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $58,200 - $111,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $67,000 - $126,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
