Read on, we’re looking for an Import Operator to manage freight for a new customer be based at our site in Heathrow, on permanent basis.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Import bookings with international/national agents; sea freight carriers and airlines

• Investigating, quoting & planning the most appropriate route for a shipment considering the nature of goods, cost, transit time and security

• Obtaining & checking documentation to meet customs, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries' regulations. Obtaining information to compete customs declarations in the UK

• Utilise internet technology to support customer tracking of goods whilst maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Previous experience and working knowledge of Import operations and main transport methods

• Proven problem solver, with a keen eye for detail and respect for confidentiality

• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both a written and verbal capacity
