Mental Health Partners Peer Support Specialist in Longmont, United States

Our Peer Support Specialist for the Longmont Behavioral Health Home supports clients that are dealing with behavioral health challenges. Your contribution to our client's treatment will support and encourage them, with your shared lived experiences, as their ally, in their efforts to become healthier. Your support will consist of meeting with clients, providing coaching and education around navigating the systems treating their physical and behavioral health needs. You will provide a safe space to process their emotional lives. You'll be a member of a collaborative integrated healthcare team providing input around the challenges and successes of your clients. You will manage boundaries and provide expertise through your personal experiences that will be valuable to our clients.

Purpose:

The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) on the Longmont Behavioral Health Team works with a collaborative interdisciplinary medical and mental health team to provide whole person care.

Job Summary:

You will be one point of contact on the BHH team and serve as a support system to clients needing additional psychoeducation and emotional support. You will report to the Program Supervisor.

What we need for this job:

Entry-Level Peer Support Specialist-

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain Peer Support Certificate within 9 months of hire required

  • Collaborative team member who is ready to jump in, support our clients and team

  • Valid driver’s license and agility to pass a Colorado MVR check

Certified Peer Support Specialist-

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Peer Support Certificate (e.g., Certified Peer Support Specialist) demonstrating proficiency in providing peer support and advocacy for individuals with technical needs

  • Collaborative team member who is ready to jump in, support our clients and team

  • Valid driver’s license and agility to pass a Colorado MVR check
