Summary/General Description of Responsibilities:

  • Repairs machinery or mechanical equipment. Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.

  • Be skilled and proficient in the usage of vibration analysis equipment, machine temperature measurement equipment, laser alignment equipment, and machinery seismic measurement equipment.

  • Uses reliability-centered maintenance methodologies when evaluating and making repairs or corrective actions.

  • The incumbent is responsible for adapting to evolving PDM industry best practices and responsibilities.

    Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Inspections and assessments of rotating equipment, reporting those conditions to the analyst team, and performing the lubrication, balancing, and alignment work requests issued by the analyst team.

  • Gather data (such as vibration routes), and perform belt alignment checks: Perform laser alignment of rotating equipment such as fan blowers and gearboxes; Verify level and align existing and new RPIE; Correct mechanical RPIE problems identified by the predictive maintenance group as directed by the analyst team.

  • Collect sampling, assist in laser alignment of RPIE, research manufacturers' recommendations for equipment, check maintenance manuals.

  • Inspects, reconditions, maintains, and installs general industrial plant and base support of machinery to include but not limited to pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.

  • Must be able to utilize PDM tools in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of critical assets.

  • Must be fully capable of articulating findings and corrective actions in written (report) format.

  • Repairs or replaces compressors and components, electric motors, fan belts, and pulleys.

  • Assists in repairs of evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Repacks valves, lubricates moving parts, replaces filters, and cleans coils.

  • Uses TO's Air Force manuals, regulations, ANSI Standards, AFOSH Standards 91series, manufactures guidance and blueprints.

  • Independently locates, repairs, or replaces defective parts and components through operational testing, if not specified based or reliability maintenance procedures.

  • Performs other incidental work operations such as checking and replacing low voltage electrical wiring and connections.

  • Strictly adheres to safety, security procedures, and regulations to include SSI, AF, and OSHA policies and standards. Utilizes safety personal protective equipment and clothing pertaining to work tasks. Includes arc-flash requirements, as applicable.

  • Adheres to proper security and housekeeping practices, Foreign Object Damage procedures and Airfield Driving Regulations, as applicable.

  • Complies with applicable federal, state, and AF environmental laws and regulations.

  • Complies with all applicable SSI, SOPs.

  • Assist other crafts as necessary.

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, verbal and written instructions.

  • Documents records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

  • Identifies and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements to supervisor for resolution.

  • Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.

  • Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Timely completion of all work.

  • Maintaining assigned work schedule.

  • Working harmoniously with customers and fellow co-workers.

  • Adherence to all safety and environmental requirements.

  • Adhere to contract requirements and SSI, policies.

  • Cleanliness and safety of shop and work areas.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalency.

  • Valid state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical procedures, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and components of industrial plant support machinery and equipment.

  • Knowledge of operating characteristics of the involved systems and equipment, and the applicable installation and repair procedures, methods, and trade practices.

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in condition assessment and advanced maintenance methodologies, as documented by resume and references.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of PDM tools and advanced predictive maintenance methodologies.

  • Knowledge and ability to use and work with test equipment and measuring devices, such as micrometers, dial indicators, volt meters, and flow meters.

  • Knowledgeable in steam/water flow characteristics and theory of operation; able to strainers, regulators, and safety valves.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.

  • Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.

  • Familiarity with facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.

  • Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.

  • Demonstrated working ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military experience.

  • Previous experience working on a military installation.

  • Experience working on Tinker facilities.

  • Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.

    This position may currently and/or in the future be required to obtain and retain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) and/or Personal Clearance (PCL) as required by law or contract. Position requires pre-employment drug screening and background check.
