Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a pharmacist the pharmacy technician performs pharmacy-related functions in compliance with state/federal regulations and department policies and procedures that provide optimal pharmaceutical care.

  • Receive prescriptions and verify their accuracy and authenticity. Check pricing, insurance payment policies, etc., as needed.

  • Prepare prescriptions - fill Rx bottles, mix IV infusions, etc.

  • Review inventory and order/restock as needed under direction from the Pharmacist.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

  • Maintain meticulous records and patient confidentiality.

  • Support the Pharmacist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the pharmacy.

Qualifications

Minimum :

High School Diploma/GED

Good communication skills

Ability to work as a team member

Knowledge of drug names and basic math

AZ Pharmacy Technician license or AZ Pharmacy Intern license

Preferred:

A minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Ability to use MS Outlook Word and Excel preferred

Pay Range

$18.83 - $25.89 /hour
