United Rentals Manager in Training in Moline, Illinois

As a Manager in Training at United Rentals, you will be assigned to a branch or multiple branches and will learn all aspects of branch operations and business planning. You’ll gain exposure to all day-to-day activities of the branch that are designed to maximize branch performance and profitability. Upon completion of the on-the-job and formal training you will relocate (with assistance) to an available branch management position within the assigned district or region.

What you'll do:

  • Exposure to all areas of business operation such as customer service, sales and marketing, management and human resources

  • Demonstrate superior customer service skills

  • Assist the Branch Manager in the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements and yearly budgets

  • Learn to utilize internal reporting tools to optimize branch financial performance

  • Coordinate activities between branch departments to optimize productivity

  • Manage personnel matters as directed by Management

  • Supervise facility inspection, inventory and fleet maintenance for rental ready status

  • Ensure workplace safety by supporting the Branch Manager in overseeing safety matters and compliance audits including: personnel safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulation and manage drug and alcohol testing

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Ability to relocate, you will be expected to relocate (with assistance) to an available branch management position within the assigned district or region

  • 3-5 years business management experience

  • P&L management experience

  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office

  • Superior customer service skills

  • Effective leadership, motivational, organizational and communication skills

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Responsabilités complémentaires (liste non exhaustive) :

  • Découverte de tous les métiers de l’entreprise, notamment le service à la clientèle, le service commercial, le service marketing, la direction et les ressources humaines.

  • Compétences supérieures en service à la clientèle

  • Appui du gestionnaire de succursale dans la préparation des comptes de résultat mensuels et des budgets annuels

  • Apprentissage des outils comptables internes afin d’optimiser le rendement financier de la succursale

  • Organisation des activités entre les différents services de la succursale afin d’optimiser la productivité

  • Gestion des questions personnelles à la discrétion de la direction

  • Supervision de l’inspection du site, de l’inventaire et de l’entretien de la flotte pour que le matériel soit prêt à être loué

  • Assurer de la sécurité au travail en appuyant le gestionnaire de succursale par la supervision de toutes les questions de sécurité et les vérifications de conformité, notamment la formation à la sécurité individuelle, la conformité OSHA, le règlement DOT et la gestion du dépistage de la consommation de drogues et d’alcool.

  • Autres responsabilités en fonction des besoins

Exigences du poste :

  • Baccalauréat exigé.

  • Il sera attendu de vous que vous déménagiez à l’intérieur de votre district ou région en fonction de l’emplacement du poste de gestion en succursale qui vous sera confié (une aide vous sera proposée).

  • Trois à cinq ans d’expérience en administration des entreprises

  • Connaissances des comptes de résultat

  • Excellentes aptitudes informatiques et expérience avec Microsoft Office

  • Compétences supérieures en service à la clientèle

  • Compétences utiles en leadership, en mobilisation du personnel, en organisation et en communication.

  • Permis de conduire en cours de validité et dossier de conduite acceptable

Upon completion of the on-the-job and formal training you will relocate (with assistance) to an available branch management position within the assigned district or region.

  • 3-5 years business management experience

  • Diligent attention to safety is required as is certification in Competent Person Training, Confined Space Training and & IVES forklift

  • P&L management experience

  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office

  • Superior customer service skills

  • Effective leadership, motivational, organizational and communication skills

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
