The Painter will use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish machined surfaces. Responsibilities Identifies and orders appropriate paint and materials needed to perform work. Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods. Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects other nonpainted surfaces. Applies paint to surfaces using automotive style equipment as well as brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other tools. Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices. Prepares detailed internal routings and other paperwork detailing material and labor time and costs. Checks parts per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor. Keep work area organized and clean. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Automotive painting experience required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Chem film experience preferred. Position Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and painting. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times. Must be able to distinguish among colors. For ITAR compliance, all employees at this location must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident. Equipment Used Standard automotive painting equipment.
