SUNY Morrisville is seeking Adjunct Instructors for human services courses in the division of Human Development & Society. The division is establishing a pool of applicants to fill potential part-time temporary teaching positions at our Norwich Campus.

Salary: $4,000 per 3-credit course

Start and end dates: August 19, 2024 to December 20, 2024

Additional responsibilities include: Student support and office hours as needed.

Teaching assignments may be in a face to face and/or distance learning environment that would include virtual synchronous courses.

Courses may include:

The division typically hires for the courses/subject areas listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the division.

  • HUMS 100 Careers in Human Services (1-credit)

  • HUMS 101 Introduction to Human Services (3-credit)

  • HUMS 125 Mental Health and Wellness (1-credit)

  • HUMS 141 Internship in Human Services I (1-credit)

  • HUMS 142 Internship in Human Services II (1-credit)

  • HUMS 143 Internship in Human Services III (1-credit)

  • HUMS 200 The Helping Process and Crisis Intervention (3-credit)

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, education, early childhood or closely related field

  • Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness including a demonstrated commitment to support student learning with the ability to engage a variety of learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A PhD and three years or more of experience teaching at the college/university level and experience in the human services field.
