GE Aerospace RISE Open Fan Technology Maturation in Munich, Germany

Job Description Summary

As part of the RISE Open Fan Systems team, the RISE Open Fan Technology Maturation role leads the overall integration of the technology maturation plan for a specific engine module(s) and/or new advanced technology area(s). This role partners heavily with Systems Module Integrators, Module Leaders and the design team to ensure program technical readiness is achieved on schedule. This role may also include the leadership or support of system level rigs and their associated test campaigns.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Influence technology maturation strategy development

  • Stays informed of industry trends and utilizes that information in turn to inform technology maturation strategy

  • Drive rigor in Technical Readiness Level (TRL) review process

  • Ensures TRL plans meet program level goals and objectives on the needed timeline

  • Work with appropriate module teams to ensure TRL plan execution ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost

  • Support/lead pre TRL 6 system rigs and tests. Includes leading integration with external partners and facilities, as appropriate.

  • Drives rigor and safety into test planning and test design reviews

  • Supports external program partnerships and pursuits

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerothermal Engineering, or Thermal Dynamics Engineering.

  • Occasional Travel to Corporate Sites

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Prior turbomachinery design or integration experience

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
