Liberty Latin America Technician Installation & Repair in Nassau, Bahamas, The
What's The Role
Installation, repair & maintenance of products and services (B2C & B2B) for Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) in Nassau.
**This is a contract/temporary position, for a 1 year contract at minimum.
Relocation benefits do not apply to this role.
Candidates must be 18+ to qualify for this position.
Candidates must have a valid local drivers license to qualify for this position
What You'll Do
Report to work on time (signing in and out the register daily)
Check in with the dispatchers every morning.
Check Airview or workbench or whichever work force management tool is being used to ensure 5 jobs are assigned per day
Close service order in Airview or ACUT or whichever work force management tool is being used in real time once install is completed
Check in with dispatchers throughout the day if a job is taking too long.
Check in with dispatchers to refer network jobs, underground, bucket truck, MDU or any job requiring escalation
Keep the Manager informed of all issues preventing services from working
Answer BTC-issued instrument and number at all times
Provide individual weekly report
Perform any duties that may enhance the department’s workflow or may be deemed necessary by the Manager.
Ensures Mean Time To Install (MTTI) standards are adhered to on a consistent basis
Ensures Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) standards are adhered to on a consistent basis
Ensures residential services on island are operating within established targets and quality assurance standards
Demonstrates the ability to learn and execute actions in the installation, repair and maintenance space which may include, aerial and underground cable network completion
Completes where applicable the splicing of cable pairs in accordance with industry standards.
Ensures submission of work completed either via automated tools available (i.e. Mobile Workbench, Smart Control Cloud Desk (SCCD) or written documentation for day to day activities, outages and any project tasks
Follows documented operational policies and procedures including the proper use of Technical tools assigned, and follows the safety measures when completing Installation, Repair or Maintenance functions (i.e. proper safety procedures when working in a public domain)
Liaises with other utility companies as necessary to coordinate and assist when required
Liaises with other departments both internally and externally as necessary to ensure update of technical plant data, timely completion of repairs, installations and projects.
Assists in the completion of site surveys and project inspections along with a Senior (Outside Plant) OSP Technical Resource
Assists with network and customer restoration after major outages (i.e. Hurricane, Flood, Cable Damage etc.)
Assists in all aspects of Install & Repair, Construction and Maintenance Field Work physical labor
Performs other assigned tasks as required
What You'll Need
Knowledge & Experience
Vocational training and/or on-the-job training is necessary. High School Diploma, and/or Technical Vocation Certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering
Minumum 2 years experience.
Previous Fiber Technician experience is preferred, at minimum in progress of a Fiber certification.
Candidates must be 18+ to qualify for this position.

Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of basic network technology and electronic connections
