Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Academic Programs Assistant for Rutgers Statewide, reporting to the Manager of Academic Programs.Among the key duties for this position are the following:
  • Provides day-to-day administrative and student support, as well as program coordination for student-related activities and events for the Rutgers University Statewide site located at Mercer County Community College.
  • Serves as the program and student informational liaison.
  • Maintains student data files, which includes generating and reviewing reports (e.g., student enrollment, course offerings, rosters, etc.).
  • Supports social media efforts (e.g., website, Facebook, etc.) and provides CRM support.
  • Provides facilities support, which may include but is not limited to, room scheduling, assigning and providing necessary equipment, coordinating with facilities management (e.g., reporting maintenance requests, repairs, etc.) and providing basic tech support.
  • Assists students with successfully completing the enrollment process to the Statewide Mercer location.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license will be required for this position; use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in higher education preferred.
  • Two years of experience in administrative and program support.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, especially during the academic year.
  • May be asked to provide on-site assistance at other Higher Education Centers in NJ.
