Job Summary:

This position ensures excellent customer service by responding in a timely, accurate and thorough manner to general requests. In addition this position is accountable for assisting in the preparation and analysis of data and for maintenance and initial reconciliation of accounts.
  • Coordinate with Service and Billing to address customer inquiries related to Account Receivables, refunds and off-system payments
  • Research and resolve simple and complex requests related to refunds, off-system checks, reissue of premium related refunds, Account Receivables (A/R) and Cash Receipts (C/R) transfer and write-offs
  • Use the correct account combination for transactions and re-class entries to ensure the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of financial data
  • Reconcile designated accounts using proper accounting techniques to verify account balance.
  • Create, enter/upload designated journal entries into the Financial System.
  • Process/complete journal entries, timely and accurately, for voids and corrections into the General Ledger to provide the appropriate area with a monthly balance.
  • Understand and adhere to all processes related to the review, coding, balancing and process of Electronics Brief requests for NASCO and UPS (Universal Payment System).
  • Process and maintain the work received in the Electronic Brief Database and monitor theElectronic Briefs inprogress.
  • Ensure the briefs are processed accurately and that completed cases are submitted via the e-brief database within the established SLAs.
  • Monitor and maintain assigned inventory in accordance with departmental goals.
  • Extract daily reports and reconcile against UPS (Universal Payment System) financial transactions.
  • Generate weekly reports for lockbox items marked for return, review for validity, add missing data and prepare report in the appropriate format for generation of refund checks.
  • Monitor lockbox for large or non-claim refunds, notify responsible areas and prepare re-class accounting entries to support the appropriate distribution of refunds and payments.
  • Complete or assist with special projects, tasks and ad hoc analysis among other requests from management.
Education/Experience
  • Requires a High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Knowledge
  • Requires basic knowledge of general accounting principles and methods;
  • Prefer knowledge of both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting principles (SAP).

Salary Range:

$43,300 - $57,960

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
