Description

Robert Half, a leading staffing agency specializing in finance and accounting, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our client's dynamic team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are documented properly in the accounting system.

  • Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify their accuracy, and prepare payments. Reconcile accounts payable transactions.

  • Accounts Receivable: Generate customer invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts. Reconcile accounts receivable transactions.

  • Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Audit Support: Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.

  • Communication: Interact with vendors, customers, and internal staff to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide information as needed.

  • General Administrative Support: Perform other clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and copying documents.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to handle numerical data with precision and accuracy.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.

  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
