Hours: M-F flex 40 hours
Rate of Pay: $75,000
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES :
Youth Resilience, Education, and Advocacy for Children’s Health (REACH) is looking for a licensed clinician to supervise a team of Community Engagement Specialists in providing services to youth and young adults ages 15-24, with an emphasis on those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. The Youth REACH Team Leader will work with the team to connect youth/young adults with mental health and treatment adjacent services, host drop-in center activities on-site in Newburgh, NY, and provide education on suicide prevention throughout Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :
The Youth REACH Team Leader will and will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including:
Leading team organizational and program meetings
Providing direction to staff regarding individual cases
Conducting side-by-side outreach and engagement, facilitating enrollment, training, and supervision of youth activities, events on-site, as needed, and conduct weekly individual supervision meetings.
Providing event and training coverage for short periods as staffing needs require, such as employee time off.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
Participate in organizational, community based, and stakeholder events and meetings
Co-chair youth advisory community
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES :
Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking
Ability to navigate electronic health record
Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
Able to demonstrate flexibility in adjusting work plan for the day to best meet the needs of the program.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
The ideal candidate will have lived experience either identifying as or having a child who identifies as part of the LGBTQIA+ community and/or working with LGBTQIA+ youth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Must have an LMSW or similar credential
Experience working with young people ages 15-24 and/or training in family systems a plus.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain trainer status in Question, Persuade, Refer Gatekeeper Training, Teen Mental Health First Aid, and Naloxone for coverage and supervision purposes.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish or English/Creole a plus
