General Info:

Job Title: Mechanics (Marine OR Industrial)

Industry: Navy Shipbuilding and Repair/Commercial industrial

Worksite Location: Hampton Roads

Contract Length: Contract-To-Hire

Pay: $20-30/hr., depending on experience

Job Description/Requirements:

• Remove, repair, overhaul, install and align main propulsion machinery and associated equipment/components.

• Also remove, repair, overhaul, install and align equipment associated with auxiliary systems such as condensers, compressors, pumps, forced draft blowers, main feed pumps, various types of valves, cargo handling machinery, anchor handling gear, boat davits, cranes, elevators, conveyors, firefighting equipment, machine shop equipment, galley, and laundry equipment Ability to crouch, kneel, work in confined areas for extended periods.

• Ability to use hand, power and specialty tools including specialty measuring devices Flexible and able to prioritize and manage time effectively.

• Strong working knowledge of multiple systems (eg: transmissions, engines, hydraulics) diagnostics and troubleshooting diesel engines.

• Diagnose failure of vessels by disassembling, repairing and reassembling parts Dedication and adherence to all company and industry safety standards
