Sunrise Fleet Maintenance LLC Trailer Technician in North Brunswick, New Jersey

We are looking for a Trailer Technician to repair and maintain semi-trailers, flatbeds, tankers and other types of trailers used for transporting goods. You will be responsible for inspecting trailers, repairing damage and maintaining equipment. As a Trailer Technician, you will be working in a clean environment with tools and equipment that may be loud. It is possible that you will be exposed to hazardous substances from time to time (such as battery acid). We are looking for a team player with mechanical skills who can repair our fleet of vehicles. You should have a high level of knowledge regarding vehicle safety regulations (safety standards regarding top loading trailers). We expect you to have experience working with semi-trailers, such as tractors or 48-wheelers.Responsibilities:Perform basic maintenance on a fleet of trailers. This includes but is not limited to: changing tires and parts, checking fluid levels, cleaning interior and exterior of trailer, making minor repairs to electrical and hydraulic systems, advising customer on trailer operation and maintenance.Perform regular inspections (e.g. brake inspection, tire rotation) and perform minor repairs as necessary.Provide customer support by answering questions and advice on trailer operation.Perform some repairs or tasks requiring mechanic certification.Use diagnostic tools like scanners, computers and test equipment in order to perform most repairs.Possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent.Be able to lift 100 lbs. unassisted (no help from another person).Have the ability to climb in and out of a trailer repeatedly during an 8-hour shift.Requirements:Proficiency in performing refrigeration (refer) repairs.Valid driver's license and safe driving record.High School Diploma/GED required, additional degree or certification in a related field preferred.4 years of experience as a diesel technician, preferably in a road service or similar environment.Possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess information accurately and utilize sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternative solutions.Proficiency in computer diagnostics and troubleshooting.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Reliable transportation to and from work.*Willingness to work in a drug-free environment and pass random drug tests as required.
