Martin Technologies Emissions and OBD Calibration Engineer in Novi, Michigan

Position: Emissions and OBD Calibration Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emissions support for multiple programs undergoing compliance investigations.

  • Implement corrective actions to meet emissions standards across various programs.

  • Collaborate with customers to ensure compliance with emissions and OBD requirements for certification reviews.

  • Conduct emissions transparency for FTP's (Federal Test Procedures).

  • Perform FTP emissions testing using prototypes.

  • Conduct OBDII self-cert transparency testing and provide necessary OBD calibration tuning for self-cert tests.

  • Offer data logging, collection, and summaries to the calibration team for DVR tailpipe emissions and OBD targets.

  • Analyze test data, conduct statistical analysis, diagnose issues, and optimize calibration parameters to enhance emissions performance.

  • Provide calibration input to the Lead Calibration Engineer to support all releases and DVR completion.

  • Deliver tailpipe emissions and OBD for all in-use programs.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and advancements in emissions control technology to inform calibration strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in emissions calibration, OBD development, or related areas in the automotive industry.

  • Profound understanding of emissions regulations, including EPA, CARB, Euro, and other global emissions standards.

  • Experience with emissions testing procedures, instrumentation, and data collection systems.

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of interpreting complex data and making data-driven decisions.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of working cross-functionally and interfacing with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Travel: Approximately 10-15% travel within the USA.

  • Work Environment: Combination of office/computer work and lab testing environments.

  • Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
