Title and Summary

Director, Technical Program Management

Overview:

SessionM, a Mastercard Company, is looking for a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) to define/implement/operate a high performing TPM organization with a focus on initiative delivery, road mapping, dependency and risk management, capacity planning, and stakeholder communications. This role will be the face of the TPM organization and help mature internal working relationships and implement an operating model to effectively provide oversight and delivery against our prioritized commitments.

Within the Data & Services organization, SessionM, a Mastercard Company (now our Merchant Loyalty Program), is a customer engagement platform empowering global brands to forge stronger and more profitable customer relationships. We partner with brands to drive marketing transformation through innovative technology and services. Headquartered in Boston, SessionM operates across multiple locations, including Prague.

Role:

• Lead and manage a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) responsible for driving technical initiatives and projects.

• Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and roadblocks that may impact project delivery.

• Facilitate communication and alignment across cross-functional teams, ensuring transparency and accountability.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to TPMs, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of technical programs, tracking progress and making data-driven decisions.

• Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical member, facilitating collaboration and managing relationships to achieve project objectives.

• Conduct regular program reviews and retrospectives to assess project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Lead the resolution of escalated issues and conflicts, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment focused on problem-solving and teamwork.

• Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership, providing regular updates and insights on program status, risks, and opportunities.

All About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

• Proven track record in technical program management, with hand on experience in a leadership role.

• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects and programs, with both Product and Engineering driven initiatives.

• Experience with tools such as Aha, Jira, Confluence, Tableau, and DOMO.

Proven track record of data driven decision making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams.

Experience in an Agile environment and delivery methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

Advanced technical program delivery experience including time developing software and developing people.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus across cross-functional teams.

• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
